Luna Welcomes the Stars, a series of evenings with Michelin starred chefs coming from all over Italy, had to be put on hold as a result of the Coronavirus restrictions. We are excited to announce that we are back on 16th October, this time with two Michelin-starred chef Oliver Glowig.
A six-course tasting menu will be prepared by Oliver and his team for one night only and will include some of his signature dishes.
Born in Germany, Oliver’s heart has always been in Italy and is the Chef Patron of the two-Michelin starred restaurant Aldrovandi Hotel Villa Borghese in Rome.
Born in Germany, Oliver fell in love with Italian cuisine over 20 years ago. His German origin has granted him a talent for precision, dedication and accuracy and all his time spent in Italy’s Campania in addition to being married to an Italian wife has given him experience and passion rarely anyone who is not Italian by birth.
His first experience of Italy is at the Quisisana Grand Hotel in Capri, where he worked under the master Gualtiero Marchesi. He earned his first Michelin star at Aquarello in Munich which was renowned for its Italian cuisine.
Oliver later returned to Italy where he founded L’ Olivio at the Capri Palace Hotel in Capri, where he received accolades for being among the best chef in all of Campania. L’ Olivio was awarded first one and later two Michelin stars and when he moved to Aldrovandi Hotel Villa Borghese in Rome in 2011, that too was awarded two Michelin stars soon after their immediate success.
Oliver’s cuisine is highly seasonal and items on the menu change regularly. He describes his own work as “a successful blend of German discipline and precision and Italian creativity and inventiveness.”
