The Prohibition Ball

18th April

Step back into a world of jazz, glamour, and indulgence as Palazzo Parisio invites you to The Prohibition Ball — an immersive charity event inspired by the electric party scene of the 1920s and 1930s.

Following the resounding success of last year’s Diamond Ball, this promises to be another unforgettable night of elegance, entertainment, and giving back.

A Proven Night of Purpose

Last year’s Diamond Ball was not only a sparkling social highlight, but a meaningful charitable achievement. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our guests — and the extraordinary collaboration of a team of professionals who donated their services entirely free of charge — every cent raised from ticket sales was donated.

The result?€17,125 proudly contributed to the FIDEM Foundation.

This achievement laid the foundation for something bigger: a charity ball hosted at Palazzo Parisio every year, blending grandeur with generosity.

A Night Hosted with Heart

The Prohibition Ball is organised in collaboration with Sarah Young and driven by the vision of Baroness Justine Pergola, who is passionate about giving back to society — and equally passionate about a fabulous dress-up party. Judging by last year’s turnout, she is very much not alone.

This year’s proceeds will be donated to MSPCA, supporting the tireless work they do to protect and care for animals in need.

The Prohibition Era: Glamour After Dark

The theme draws inspiration from the Roaring Twenties and early Thirties, an era defined by jazz music, underground speakeasies, and lavish parties held behind closed doors. While prohibition ruled the law books, nightlife flourished in secret — fuelled by music, dance, and unapologetic glamour.

On the night, expect:

  • Open Bar with era-specific cocktails

  • Gourmet canapes all night

  • Top-tier live entertainment

  • Bands and era-specific dancers

  • Fabulous raffle prizes

  • Immersive themed fun throughout the palace

This is not just a ball — it’s a fully transported experience.

Dress to Impress

This is a strictly dress-up event.

Patrons will be refused entry if not dressed according to theme.

The good news? Prohibition-era style is effortlessly achievable:

  • Ladies: Think flapper glamour — feathers, fringe, pearls, headpieces, and sparkle.

  • Gentlemen: Classic suits, waistcoats, or DJs complete the look perfectly.

It’s all about attitude, elegance, and having fun with the era.

To enter the Prohibition Ball, guests are invited to wear a small “animal” as their password for the evening. This can be anything inspired by the animal kingdom — a brooch, cufflinks, feathers, a motif, or any playful detail incorporated into your outfit. The idea draws inspiration from the 1920s, when entry to illicit parties was often granted through subtle signals or passwords known only to invited guests. It is also a nod to the evening’s charitable cause, as the event supports the MSPCA and the important work they do for animal welfare in Malta. Show us your animal and step inside for a night of mischief and glamour. 🥂🐾
