The start of a new journey - Rebrand & launch of our new Website

Updated: Sep 16, 2021

Locally and internationally, Palazzo Parisio has become a cherished Maltese institution to all that visit, and the origin of many real-life fairytales, playing host to generations of celebrations, ceremonies and milestones. The ancestral home’s distinctive flair and personality shines through every detail, carefully orchestrated by the Baroness Ramsay Scicluna and her daughter Justine.

The Palazzo boasts an array of beautiful spaces to host both intimate and extravagant events from the golden opulent ballroom, the much-loved restaurant, the impeccable manicured gardens, the greenhouse a botanical sanctuary and the family yacht available for charter. Palazzo Parisio has set the standard of refinement and innate Italian-Anglo flair on the island.

It was amidst the global pandemic that the Baroness and her daughter decided to refocus the brand they had built, starting a new chapter by undertaking a fresh and modern rebrand exercise with the Maltese-based Vanessa Coleiro Agency, London branding agency Inaria and Paris-based photographer Donja Pitsch. Over the quiet quarantine months of lockdown, the team had an eventful (and a far from quiet) 12-month project on their hands!

A New Chapter

From the initial research, Palazzo Parisio was often described as a ‘hidden gem’, and it is quite literally that. Despite the busy town location of Naxxar, behind the walls sits the most serene and tranquil gardens and impeccable historical residence.

The aim of the rebrand was to retain the much-loved Palazzo Parisio personality, whilst incorporating a fresh botanical feel, inspired by the infamous gardens.

Of course, rebranding amidst a global pandemic didn’t help matters!

Ultimately, we quickly established that the success of this project was going to come down to two key objectives; recognition of the new brand and attracting a new client base whilst still retaining the loyalty of our regular clientele.

“We believe Palazzo Parisio has the potential to be the ultimate place to see and be seen in Malta. This year has been difficult for all but has given us an opportunity to re-focus on why this ancestral home is one of the greatest on the island to welcome guests back to. With the new branding, we wanted to retain the existing brand image that people know and love, whilst creating give a special, local botanical touch, which we believe is a new concept for Malta. Whether it be with flowers, service, food or drinks, we aim to offer a slice of exquisite luxury to each and every one of our visitors. We understand that there is a longstanding integrity with the brand and that it is important to continue its centuries-old heritage.”

Capturing the magic of Palazzo Parisio

Photographer Donja Pitsch is a Paris based photographer, who has shot for internationally-acclaimed publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle and Glamour. In the initial stages of planning, Donja and the branding team went to work using mood boards as visual inspiration for the Palazzo Parisio photoshoot. The brief was to focus on the beautiful gardens of The Palace, and to attract a new audience – with a more relaxed and informal feel.

The shoot took place in April, with the pandemic in full swing, the operation was nothing but a small feat of determination and teamwork. The main models flew in from abroad, whilst the rest of the extras were friends of Palazzo Parisio, adding authenticity to the photographs.
